    D3 Center Console Repair

    Hi all,

I'm after some advice on the best way to repair the lid on my center console.

I've purchased a replacement leather skin from ebay:

BEIGE LEATHER BEIGE ST ARMREST COVER FOR LANDROVER DISCOVERY 3 4 LR3 LR4 04-15 | eBay

I'm not sure on the best way to attach it? Do I need to glue it down over the existing leather?

I'm also concerned that if I just glue the replacement over the top of the existing leather I will be able to feel the old tears through it after a while.

Has anyone done this repair before and able to pass on some advice?

    Cheers

    Adam

I haven't tried any such work.
I would be cutting the damaged section out in a neat rectangle if you aren't removing the original trim and putting a piece of contact paper in its place to minimise the repair showing thru.
See what others say,now you have the leather replacement it may be cost effective to get a trimmer to do the job professionaly.

Give it to a motor trimmer and pay them a $100 to the job, the reality is that you couldn't do half as good a job as they do on your first attempt.

You don't even need to leave your car there, just unscrew the lid and leave it with them
