I seen it but I don't believe it
Andrew
Posted a couple of pics in another thread but thought I'd fire up a new one for these as they are a new product from Gordon.
Today fitted my new GOE deluxe sliders - they have checkerplate infill panels.
Not much I can add to the installation process that hasn't been covered previously but very happy with the workmanship and the fit and finish.
I may consider adding some drainage holes later....
A few photos below plus a few observations from Tombie comparing with the APT sliders.

QUOTE=Tombie;2605721]For data purposes:
GOE 2 @ 9.0 - 18kg
APT 2 @ 17.0 - 34kg
Observations:
GOE Slider has a 48% weight saving over APT
GOE slider should have the "end cap" to allow the rear wheel arch liner to be screwed securely.
GOE slider appears that water/mud will pool on the top plate ** happy to be corrected **
APT slider doesn't require modification to front edge of guard
APT has smooth underplate which assists sliding without hooking on outriggers.
APT drains easily - even with step plates as they are perforated.
Both are excellent AUSSIE MADE products. Anyone looking to purchase would do well with either.[/QUOTE]

They look pretty neat.
One additional point - the GOE sliders don't subtract from the ground clearance in any way. I don't have any experience yet with the APT sliders, but on the last GOE training day we had 3 cars with GOE sliders and one with the UK offering. The difference in ground clearance was apparent on a few tight, rutted corners.
Cheers,
Gordon
Curious to know why the GOE sliders start a foot back from the front wheel arch, this seems like it leaves the car unnecessarily vulnerable?
I realise that having them go any further forward involves a cutting the plastic sill but this isn't difficult and if your going to the trouble to fitting sliders I would assume you want full protection.. maybe there is some logic im unaware of?
I have the APT sliders and they don't affect the ground clearance in the slightest
This is my solution, checker plate riveted on top of GOE sliders, i've now painted the rivets black
MY11 SDV6 HSE, e-diff, LLAMS, Snorkel, Rhino Pioneer Rack, DBS, BFG KO2 265/65r18, Mitch Hitch, GME TX3550s, GOE stuff....
It is a question that has been raised before (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-disco...sliders-3.html)
There is a little extra vulnerability there but perhaps not as much as it first seems as even though the plastic cover is still there, the front end of the slider does actually slip forward into the gap between the sill and the plastic cover. So I guess if I was to drop that section on a rock the plastic might be sacrificed but the sill underneath would still be protected by the slider.
I'm reasonably comfortable with that.

Although Gordons deluxe sliders will collect mud on top I think that plate fully welded where it is adds more strength compared to tack welded or riveted over the top.
I would want mine like Davids. They also would give a good toe hold whilst standing on them to get gear on/off a roof-rack.I don't think I would add drainage holes until the filling of mud proved to be a problem.
As I mentioned to Gordon when I saw them,he could probably drop one stringer and loose no strength.
