Tombie - looks like someone has done it here, Installing a winch in a non-winch bar | 4x4Earth although it's on a Toyota.

If you can buy the winch bracket from ARB, wouldn't you be able to convert the bar on a Disco similarly ??

Must admit though, it always makes me wonder why anyone would buy the non-winch version of this bar in the first place. I was quoted only a couple of hundred bucks difference between the two, so I specified the winch bar - even though I have so far never installed a winch. At least I know I can if I want to.
    Cheers .........

Yeah I wonder why the last owner got the non winch bar ... I did ask him and his reply was I would never install a winch .... only for piece of mind (night driving)

Not knowing the the difference between either it would not be wise to convert.
But if you had a winch bar to compare it to it possibly could be done .
I am not condoning or suggesting modification of a bull bar as it could open a can of worm`s in legality if god forbid something went pear shaped

I am looking at buying a new ARB bar and I won't fit a winch to my D4. I don't want the extra weight. Let me know if you decide to sell the bar.

No Winch basket. The bar is integrated for the Winch and braced accordingly.

Is there an option with standard plastic bar but with an winch plate bracket . I think I have seen a d4 from Landrover which has the winch from factory ?
