Steering Lock - which setting to disable?

    Hi

Along with my previous query on the daytime running lights...

How can I disable the steering lock in the settings?

I can only find 1 reference to the steering lock in all of the CCF and other menu settings:
BCM - Body Control - Steering Column Memory - the options are Active / Inactive, and is currently set on Inactive.

    Is this the one?

    Thanks.

In my MY10's CCF there was a setting for the steering column lock as fitted/not fitted, so changed it to not fitted.

    Edit: Changed using a Faultmate.

    Faultmate / IIDTool

    Hi

Interesting that the Faultmate has that setting (Steering Lock Fitted), whereas I can't find that anywhere in my CCF settings using my IIDTool...

    ???

    Thanks

I suspect that you will have to ask GAP for full access as the IIDTool by default seems only to provide access to parameters normally tailored.

Yes, you need to email GAP and ask for full CCF access, then it will be in the full list (as opposed to "Confirmed list")

Ooh I can't wait to play with those settings, my gap tool should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday.
I bought it from Bell Auto.
So will I need to email Gap for full access as well Steering Lock - which setting to disable? is there an extra cost Steering Lock - which setting to disable?

Yes you will and no extra cost.

I have been beta testing a few things with them and just this week have got live values for battery parameters.
This was changed from MY14 onwards to a different ECU and Gap had to work it out.

    Values include:
    - Alternator Current
    - Alternator Load
    - Battery State of Charge
    - Battery Current
    - Battery Voltage (already available elsewhere)

This kind of improvement and testing is free of charge to existing owners and I think a few of us Aussies must be at the leading edge of using the tool's features.

    Cheers,
    Scott

I too have been beta testing, but being MY10, almost everything works fine!

It's worth mentioning that "full" ccf access opens up a huge number of parameters that are not used for all models.
Some that are not even used by LR (Jag, Ford, etc are in there too).
In some cases, changes are not to be taken lightly as you can bugger things up.
Full access is a case of "user beware".

    Cheers,

Yes, don't go changing your D4's engine type to SDV8 - it won't magically put one under the bonnet!
