Aren't long engines now available from LR?

Not sure if that includes oil and fuel pumps.

Re: rebuild or buy long motor.

My D3 had done 370K on motor and still running sweet, but as I live remote and wanted to be sure when travelling, did a change.
Have just fitted a late low K's Territory 2.7D.
(And my old motor went to a new home).
Getting the Territory motor for $4000, meant low K's injectors, pump and turbo, which all worked with my car after computer re-set.
Have seen "re-cond" motors being sold for $7000 and they want your old motor. The "re_con" is just rings and bearings, not new pistons or barrels, so getting a low K used motor looks like better value.
ALSO. Blanking EGR valves, has reduced engine running temperature by about 20% (on guage), because no longer running coolant through EGR valves and heating it extra.
Would always go the Territory option because of the "extras" you get in the price.

Sorry I dont follow that - if you have just blanked the EGRs - coolant is still going through the EGRs (blanking just stops exhaust gases going into the induction system) and exhaust gases will still be going through the EGRs up to the blank depending on how open or closed the EGrs are.

Certainly no difference in operating temps in my EU4 TDV6 when blanked - still at optimum operating temps.
