For my tune the local WA Roo agent did the tune, they did it in one day and were talking to the Roo tuners in Brisbane the whole time.
    Road test before and after.

I would not be happy sending the ECU away. You should be able to get your selected tuner to do it locally.

Re the exhaust, I don't believe you need a retune, the ECU adapts the fuelling within its new parameters to account for the different mass air flows.
Apparently a properly designed 3" system provides much better air flow lower EGT's.

I haven't heard a D4 with it fitted, but would definitely do so before deciding.

    Just my thoughts.

MR auto did the tune and EGR delete on my 2.7.

Maybe give them a call about the 3.0l?

I have a feeling it may be a BAS tune.

Couple of mates have had standard Roo tunes on LC 79's,with exhaust upgrade as well,no worries at all.

On the roo tune vids, the LC seem to have lower EGR's,whether this is true and represents normal type driving,i don't know.

The vids show flat to the floor type of driving,up the Gateway bridge here in Brisbane.

    JC,may know,thoughts ??

Sound advice and sure to be taken. I, too, am not so happy about the idea of separating the vehicle from its ECU via Australia Post... I think a local provider will be the only option I would consider.

I contacted BAS and they also advise the ECU needs to be on the bench to be remapped. Seems it needs to be pulled apart and altered internally to be remapped. It's becoming a bit less attractive to me as a result of that. I'm not sure of the EGR delete also requires the ECU to be cracked open or happens via the OBD port. That's the next line of enquiry for me as the information is becoming mixed as to whether it's needed fro both or only the remap for more power. If the EGR delete requires the ECU to be pulled apart, I guess it makes sense to remap at the same time (with a safe tune), but EGR in isolation, if not as invasive, might be preferred course of action.

    Thanks for the replies guys

It’s not as simple as just the size - one 3” setup is not an inidication of others. Muffler selection will drastically effect that - size, type, brand, material, etc.

I appreciate this, but the ones I have seen (and listened to) seem to err on the side of "free flowing" (the purpose of going larger diameter in the first case pretty much) which combined with the typical diesel grumble have generally been pretty bad. I'd be disappointed in that outcome for my RRS.

The Roo package this fellow had on his D4, included their big bore complete stainless exhaust.
Sounded good, (except for the leaks) definitely not intrusive.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

    Thanks Justin,

Anyone in Brisbane got this set up on their vehicle (3L TTD) I could have a listen to (with leaks fixed... )?
