Batteries can sometimes die suddenly when the sediment from the sacrificial plates ( Anodes ), builds up to and shorts out the Cels.
If you carefully and slowly drain the acid into a clean container, flush out the Cels and replace the acid, you might be able to get a charge into it. All it will cost is the clothes you're wearing. They always seem to come out of the wash full of holes, no matter how careful you are.
Of course the best option is to go to Town and get a new one.

Anyway I put it on charge and it may end up a non stop trip (1400km). Any decent places in Perth to pickup a new one that have them in stock?
