I didn't know there was any difference between them. Actually thought the Ritter was a direct rip off of the Mitch hitch?
What happened to the Ritter Hitch?
I've been researching for a decent tow reciever for my parent's D4 to tow their 2.6t offroad single axle van.
I already knew about the Ritter hitch, but can find bugger all info about it.
Called Ritter yesterday to enquire, was told the person I needed was on call. Stl no call today.
I prefered the Ritter to the Mitch hitch which I thinkk sticks out too far with 250kg bearing down on it.

Ex '77 RRC 2 door. Long gone but not forgotten.
I put one on a few months ago - actually, Ritter put it on.
I'll take some pictures and post them.
I have used it, no difference in towing feel to the standard LR one. The unit is a more snug fit though. Its very easy to attach the chains too - you don't have to bend down, as the attachment for the chain are high up, on the top of the unit.

Looking down from above, the bar attachment sticks out about 50mm.

Sideways look at how far it sticks backwards and also its height (which is a bit higher now which is what I wanted:
