Anyway ..................... I'm buggered if I can understand why you'd want to stick a shire council worker up on the roof of your shiny new car.
That's what I did and keep it in one of my drawers. For memory its made by Dune, comes in a vinyl bag in 3 pieces and I bought it from Anaconda.

    3 piece shovel

I bought mine from Opposite Lock, same sort of thing, heavy duty vinyl bag with pockets for each piece. Strong and robust a little bit heavy but a quality product, no splinters either!

Same - and mine sits happily in the footwell of the 3rd row seats.

Has anyone used Quickfist clamps? I'm thinking of getting some for this purpose.

I'll let you know how they go in a couple of weeks.

I've bought these,, or a similar set anyway to try. I went into TJM in Dandenong, and to my surprise they had a box of various fittings under the counter with which I chose a couple of things to do the job. Should work, I'll post a pic in my build thread when I'm done.

Yeah, I use them for carrying my shovel. Cheaper solution than the specialist shovel holders from Rhino, Frontrunner and the like.

Maybe just get the mrs to hold it, saves getting it down for her when she has to dig you out
