Now we are getting somewhere!!!! You don't know if its changed since the wheel carrier was fitted????
That switch should shut them up when deployed!!!

No just the new camper trailer Andy. Autospark installed the active/inactive switch in the cargo bay alongside the two 12v sockets, so I turn it on when towing and off when not towing. The trailer icon comes up on the dash when turn indicating if I'm towing. Still, the park sensors go off in reverse. It might have something to do with the rear wheel carrier. Will have to take the whole rig to the sparkie I guess.
Here's what it looks like in the cargo bay:

Autospark installed all the electrics, then Opposite Lock did the RWC including re-mounting one of the parking sensors. I hadn't hooked up the trailer to test anything till Good Friday, when the issue became apparent.
Hi Greg.
The other button next to the Hazard Lights switch is the one on mine that turns the sound off. I wonder if it is connected but not enabled and may be able to be turned on with a GAP IIDTool or Black Box Nanocom.
Must be model dependent as this topic has been discussed before.

From memory, the button only comes with having front sensors and then will disable front and rear. If rear only fitted you have to use volume control as Andrew suggested. However it seems odd that the sensors stay on when your new switch works to illuminate the trailer dash symbol, which presumably means the vehicle knows there's a trailer. Disabled sensors and trailer symbol usually go together.

SubscriberCorrect Scott. My MY16 HSE has front sensors and the turn-off button is the big button on the RHS of the hazard button.
Is the trailer light on the dash flashing when the indicators are flashing? That will tell you if the trailer is actually being recognised and the vehicle has gone into trailer mode, in which case the rear sensors should be disabled.
Another thing to try if the RWC is the culprit is some insulation tape across part of the offending sensor. I've done this with my 2 inner sensors which don't like the Mitch Hitch.

SupporterI have the opposite problem. The previous owner permanently disabled the sensors, presumably due to interference from the Mitch Hitch and Kaymar rear bar. Not sure how it was done because GAP IID says they are enabled and I have sensors in the bar. Occasionally I wish I had them for safer reversing but at least I don't have your problems, Greg.

Andrew, with the switch being installed in the cargo bay, I have to manually switch it on when towing and off when not towing. When 'on' the trailer indicator lights up on the dash during turn indication. Unfortunately, it also lights up when there's no trailer attached, if the switch is inadvertently left on. Confusing, huh?
