Using the iid tool guided calibration

I read the destructions over and over again.. then i let my mate loose who is a very clever mechanic... then I showed him guided calibration... after an hour of software woes.. it seems that the iid firmware update to latest would not connect with my motorola phone(nougat ).. re installed everything and still the same. I managed to get it working on a samsung tablet running kit kat.
But I digress. I had purchased 4 tape measures from spotlight taped them to each fender at the right measurement then began the guided calibration. I could not believe how darn easy it was and done in minutes with the tape measures setup prior to this. This feature is worth the purchase price of the iid alone.. it has proved very handy.
We changed out the rear left height sensor, put in a new rear valve block (you do have some slack and dont need to be underneath the car, but not much fun) put everything back together and recalibrated a second time cause it was fun and i mean that.
My hats off to those guys at gap diagnostics.. I will admit I was skeptical about the cost but not now.
As i was reversing out of my mates garage he said to me "hey your rear left brake light is out" I never even thought to check that.. is the a shame corner i can go and stand in for a day?

See, told you. Brilliant hey! I also like the new heights screen so you can simply go on and dial in different height on the move.

Now thats something. I didnt see that in the instructions.. I would like to lower the car for highway cruising say an inch.. nothing stupid but was worried bout it upsetting hoe high you could go etc etc if needed. I assume you leave the iid tool plugged in .. I worry bout theunit getting hot as well as feet hitting it
I must thank you Jeff, it is such a simple job to do now , I no longer need the team of actuaries I had on call

    Hi.

You can leave it plugged in but GAP advise not to. This is purely because if you don't turn the app off the unit will continue running and may drain your battery. If you turn the app off before leaving the car there's no problem. They advised me to connect before I drive off and disconnect when I leave the car. I use it primarily to lower to bump stops to help my wife enter/exit the car. Works a treat.

I definitely recommend getting an OBDII extension to avoid kicking the IID tool. You can get right and left angle round cable ones but I bought a flat ribbon one and it barely sticks out of the panel so much, much safer. See post 29 in this thread for a picture. You can get different lengths, he bought 30cm but I bought 100cm to allow more flexibility in placement.
