The colour of the smoke screams water to me. Not a hint of blue to it to indicate oil.

In a diesel engine white smoke could also mean unburnt fuel coming through the exhaust

I'Ve also seen gouts of white smoke from the demise of a turbo, but the resulting power loss is usually a dead giveaway in that case.

Its quite a challenging little hill that, although they dug the holes out a fair bit deeper I think, and somewhat steeper that it appears on film. Although I wouldn't have thought it steep enough to have transferred anything into the pots as such. (?)
Did you do it at a higher speed as well?

It is not very steep hill, but we only run on 20km as Gordon taught use rock crawling then change to mud rut. It seems we didn't get it right yet.

The white smoke was clean smelling also, so i didnt think it was oil or diesel. But it was certainly persistent.

Another small possibility is a sudden cooling of the main muffler/ exhaust system when immersed in mud or water may cause lots of condensate.

We hadn't been through any water since the day before and had done about an hour of hwy driving prior to this. Not sure what DPF re-gen looks like, but it was my first suspicion.

Just update on the issue as I already book with dealer in June, but I had another similar incident early. I tried cut into the traffic of 80km highway uphill, it blow the "smoke" again when I pushed the engine to 3000-4000r/m in order to keep up the speed. Therefore, there are two scenario similar to last incident, tiling uphill and enginee up to 3000-4000r/m. Otherwise, it performs normal without excessive power.

Just wait & see what dealer say, will scanning tool tell any story?

    Cheers,
    Gary

I find that when i idle my RRS 2013 around town for a week or so, very rarely getting above 2500rpm this white smoke can happen. Saturday morning (early), on the way to golf there is the opportunity to blow the cobwebs out, quite often giving it some right foot and revs up to 4000rpm and up to about 120km/h will give this large white cloud!!!! once cleared it is OK, I can give it a boot full from the next set of lights and no smoke. I am to believe it is a build up of oil in the exhaust area for the secondary turbo, once burnt off it takes a while to accumulate again. i may get told i am full of something but that is what i think.
