I had a read Scott, after a brown pants moment last weekend, I'm thinking the program doesn't work that well unless the trailer light is on !

Like I mentioned earlier, towing a large van is very new to me, but once it gets a wriggle on it is attention grabbing moment, and the electronics don't seem to be assisting in any way that I can feel.
( not that I want to rely on them either - but a little help is always welcomed! )

As I feel it happening I'm slowiy feeding in more power in and tapping the tow pro to apply the trailer brakes. I'm sitting on my 90 / 95 / 100 on the straight & flat and backing off before corners, and feeding a little back in during the corner.

Dont want to be that person sitting on 80km all the time holding up the traffic...

I know this has been covered probably as much as it can be but I just came across this statement in the WSM when looking for something else. It comes from a descriptive section for the brake systems. The bold emphasis is mine.

When the trailer electrical socket is connected, trailer stability assist operates automatically to enhance the existing DSC and terrain response functions of the vehicle when towing. The system detects sway movements caused by trailer oscillations at speeds in excess of 60 km/h (37 mph) and acts to eliminate them.

    Regards,
    Scott
