Thread: Naviplus retrofit

I have a similar unit I bought second hand off eBay from Europe. It's a GVIF interface box with an android unit that runs gps apps etc via a component video link. My unit had a touch screen controller as well. It works ok but not great. The major problem with mine and it looks the same with the system you are looking at is the version of android is very dated (jellybean 4.4 - 2012) and most apps don't run on it any more. What is good with mine is that the GVIF allows me to connect a reversing camera to the factory 7" screen if my D3. $1200 is also a heafty price tag. Search gvif on the internet. A mob called car solutions sell them (I think based in Russia). They helped me with my install as I was missing a cable and had to get a replacement from them.

$1200 is pretty hefty to keep original styling, these joying head units look like good value in comparison and what i will fit once i get a D3 shortly.
I think the only plus for using the Naviplus is the location of the screen.

What model D3 will you be getting, or more importantly what level of sound system will it have? If you're upgrading from the base model it's much easier than from the HK HiLine or top of the range Logic7 as you need to keep the most bus running to keep your 4x4 info etc. There are plenty of posts on the subject here and on Disco3 UK.

Model depends on what i can get but possibly a HSE.
