Hi All,
I've got to replace my screen up here in Brisbane North side.
It'll be an insurance job, but I am almost certain, there will be good and bad replacement screens and good and bad installers.
It's has a crack so still drive-able. Which is good coz the last mobile dude who replaced the screen in the D2 faffed it right up!
What's the goss? Any tips?
Ralph

SubscriberYou must ensure the clips for the trim along the edge are replaced with new genuine clips.

SubscriberThe dudes who did mine didn't change the clips but clearly knew it was an issue. They put a huge lump of sikaflex at each clip point to assist it to stick back down securely, and I can say, it did/does work.

I got mine done through insurance and I asked RACQ to tell the installer to take extra care to ensure it didn't leak, so they put that instruction on the job order. It was done in the carport while I was at work and doesn't leak.

SubscriberMy luck working on my vehicles is always such that I would not only break all the clips first time, but I'd no doubt bust the trim if it was sikaflexed on.
I don't even get ****ty about these things any more - I expect them to happen no matter how careful, and just take a big breath and get on fixing and repairing the things I break along the way.
