DAB and Bluetooth integration 2011 Discovery 4

This is my first post and have found the forums very useful. Did a lot of reading before taking the plunge and buying my first Land Rover.

One of the things I found annoying on my car is the lack of bluetooth streaming ability considering the car has bluetooth handsfree and is not that old. I don't own an ipod/iphone either. After doing some reading here and on the net I came to the conclusion that no one recommended an easy way to integrate this function into the car.

After doing some searching I decided to install an Alpine EZi-DAB (Same as Pure Highway 400) into the car. They aren't available in OZ and had to order it from the UK. It gives me the ability to stream music via bluetooth and the added bonus of adding DAB radio as well. The whole unit is what you stick onto the windscreen and includes it's own antenna. The audio can be sent by built in FM transmitter to the radio (displays RDS as EZI-DAB or by AUX audio input (I put an audio switch in the glove box to easily switch between my roof DVD and the DAB unit). Just had to connect wiring to the supplied USB power adaptor (Added a fuse tap behind the glovebox to hide the wiring).

The install was very easy and the hardest part was hiding the cables and wiring up the AUX audio from the rear of the centre console to the glove box. The control head is wireless and I just used velcro to stick it to the dash. Easy control of your music and DAB Radio and it doesn't stand out to much. Can stream from your spotify account too if you have one.

The DAB reception seems good and you can bluetooth connect to the LR handsfree and and Ezi-DAB unit at the same time.

If anyone with an older D4 wants to add these features it is an easy task.

    Hope the info is helpful.

Most people simply get the Tune2Air unit that plugs into the Apple iPod connector. It works perfectly to deliver Bluetooth streaming capability from your phone into the Aux functionality. It doesn't give you DAB however

If you're just looking for a DAB upgrade, I came across a guy in Sydney doing them. Not sure if he's on this forum. Look up "Old Jaguar" on FB or search engine.

Just looking up the tune2air seems perfect for what I'm looking for. Does anyone know if it works okay with the newer iPhones? The website mentions iphone5 which is about 3 years old now. Given it connects via the 30pin iPod connector do you get any details up to the factory display?

    Alpine solution looks good too.

Yeah it works well, and for iphones you can browse playlists etc.

I use mine with and iPhone 7. As mentioned, full functionality for playlists, steering wheel controls etc. Mine also sends other sound including navigation instructions if you're on the aux listening to music.
    Overall it's been solid

I really like the sound of this tune2air. Do you remember what you paid for it and where from?

I've been looking around and they have them on Amazon for just over $90 USD shipped. The brand name is different, same manufacturer and model numbers.
