Mine shows the same[ H8HD 90ah 950cca],probably as good it gets, the alternatives were H8 and T8 for 90ah 800cca.The old battery was an Exide Endurance Plus wet cell/calcium rated 90ah 750cca and was on the same setting H8HD....although the case looked slightly swollen.New charging rate shows 14.2v normal and 14.5 on the overrun...sometimes flashes 13.7v between the two.Bit disconcerting when the temp and fuel gauges disappeared.....after a while realised had left the Gap tool in the OBD port!

It would be interesting to know the configuration selection for >MY11 D4 3.0 fitted with a genuine AGM.Using their GAP tool, can anyone confirm that the battery is configured as HD8HD 90AH 950CCA.

    Mine is same,H8HD 90AH 950 CCA MY12,but 2.7l

Mine now has AGM but never charges more than 13.9V.

I would like to make sure it is on AGM setting.

    But i think the 2.7 didn't have a BMS,although the 3.0l did.

I also found another setting,CCF battery type, mine is on conventional. The setting has other types,up to type 16.

Does anyone know what they are?

    Hi all
Im up for a new battery for my MY10 HSE 3.0TDV6 relatively soon (winter is coming)

Currently have a Varta H3 (SLA) flooded lead acid
after reading this post was thinking about upgrading the G14 AGM?
Does any one know if its ok for me to upgrade to an AGM battery? (service manual says my VIN should have a 90 amp/hour, 825 amps FLA)

as far as I can see the Varta H3 and G14 are physically the same size?
with G16 a little higher in CCA (850) and slightly lower AH at 95?

Also would an AGM handle a winch??

    Varta G14 Stop Start

Am I correct in thinking that the Varta G14 (595901) which is promoted as having"stop start" functionality is the only version of the G14 and therefore is Ok to install in a 2014 HSE Discovery 4.

    Many Thanks. Peter

    yeah maybe?
I would imagine the start stop capability is due the the cranking amps and fast recovery of the AGM?
I would also imagine that the AGM should still work as a normal battery?
the only thing i can think of is the maximum charging voltage from the alternator not to exceed 14.8V (according to the service manual that is,
hence why i guess it was recommended to check with IID tool?

I also found this battery which maybe in a cheaper price range and equal specs to the G14,
    Century DIN85LH AGM
    not sure how these rate?
but on paper they are virtually identical to the Varta G14 (might be a good thing)
