Unless it has settled all the way to the stops I wouldn't worry too much as if it has been cold the air in the bags / pressure tank can contract overnight dropping the suspension a bit

ok brains trust my compressor has started to make a noise when starting the car each morning and only this morning i noticed that the car had settled down on the suspension so I am guessing there is a leak in the system.
any advice on how to find the source of the leak and what might need replacing?
is there another thread here that has the answers my search did not find anything?

Time to pull the suspension fuse and leave the vehicle overnight and see what happens.Do a search on here,i can't remember which fuse it is,it is under the bonnet.
This will keep all the valves shut, and you will see which side or corner drops.Or might be front or rear only.
While turned off,the vehicle will try to re levell,so if there is a leak it keeps re levelling and ends up on the bump stops.
Mine was doing this and it was a faulty corner valve. Then the new corner valve decided to fail 4 months later.
Since then,it has been fine, this was about 18 months ago.
All fun and games.
Also, when fuse is pulled, use a piece of masking tape between guard and wheel. You will soon see which corner is dropping as the tape will go lose on that corner.

Remove the 20A (#26) engine bay suspension fuse, not the 5A one.

finally got around to removing the Fuse #26 and the entire front dropped overnight
now the question is what do i need to replace to solve the issue
Sounds like the front corner valve.
Do you have a Gap tool?
Checking the gallery pressure would be good.
Someone will chime in with more info i am sure.
