remember, most toyota people think the 100 series was a better car than the 200 series.
d4 is better than both.
but why a petrol?
diesel as good as if not better.
Yes, D4 3.0l with Compomotives, factor this into the price from the beginning to avoid the whinging later.
I'd say petrol v8, but with the twin inductions, you'd have to work out a way to plumb a safari snorkel in by re-routing one which I'm not sure has been achieved yet?
Less accessories available for the v8 i think. Depends, if it's going to be a tourer or not???
I do find it amusing how many people whinge about having to spend extra money on Compomotives when 70 series Land Cruiser owners are taking a brand new 4x4 and spending $6000+ to fix the tracking issue that Toyota was too lazy to fix.
All I can add is a post I made a few years ago after a run in Terry O's V8,,
something about not doing "as much" after 160kph,,, [bigwhistle]
and the thing with a d4 is, you take it for a test drive, says 30min, it feels the same as a 200 series. but yon dont discovery the real features that separate the to for a several weeks.
And then there is stuff like this that turns me off.
Motor replacement D4
I thought that the 200 was TDV8 and not a petrol ?
