But do you think that the BFGs are a nearly $100 per tyre better than the Bridgestones - particularly taking into account most vehicles will spend most of their time on the bitumen?
I have had the earlier KOs on my Freelander and they were great but they seemed a bit cheaper then.

These pictures show my one of my D697's (LT 265/60R18). Two of which show this type of damage. They have done around 6000 Km since new and are only a few months old. They were used to do the southern half of Canning Stock Route using appropriate tyre pressures as conditions and road types dictated. On return home and eventual inspection, I found that two of my tyres show numerous small splits some of which seem quite deep especially as that these cracks are situated between the tread blocks. I have just taken them back to the shop where they were fitted onto my Compomotive rims and was told that this damage wasn't a problem. However, I thought a second opinion from the experts here wouldn't be a bad thing as I would not want to drive on risky tyres. Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks in advance Peter
Looks like he's still got over 10mm of tread there, can't see what's worn??
I've found the 3000kms of corrugations wore my tyres down more that the 27,000kms on bitumen.
Southern section alone is what 900km off-road?
I have 2 down to 6mm or 50% after these 30,000kms and 2(now fronts) still with 9mm or 75% so 62% tread left overall. If I get 60,000kms out of a set with the huge price saving over the BFGs i'd be stoked. You'll have to push 75,000 plus to break even on the 25% price difference;-)
Important to note mine lives at full GVM 95% of the time. Would obviously be getting much higher kms as a soccer mums setup.
Swapping my K02’s over for D697 in the next week or so
Given my 90% on road vs 10% off-road ratio AND my off-road ratio is 45% sand 45% tracks/ruts and only ~ 10% rocks they seem like a good choice
I need better on road feel and reduced noise from what I’m getting with the K02’s. I run at GVM maybe 2% of the time.
I’ll find out soon enough I guess
For what its worth - Tom Price 265/65/17 KO2 price $395, could get them down to $380 best deal.
I only managed between 35,000 - 40,000km on my last set of Bridgestone 697's, which was a fair bit short of my previous experiance of the same tyres on another vehicle. So I'm now giving another brand a go as the BFG's are just to exxy for me to justify. (I prefer something around the $300 a tyre mark)
