DiscoJeffset, cheers for that have just emailed them for pricing.
dirvine - did you also order from PerformanceAlloys?
I emailed compomotive direct, they said have to go via GOE.
Have again emailed and left voicemails with GOE, no response.
Been trying now for 6 months.
Turtle60, I came across that supplier too, but I think the risk for the benefit is not there, everyone who gone standard 2.7 brakes has been very happy.
EXCELLENT suggestion on using the tuffants as the spare wheels...
Seems a view of us have got onto performance alloys in th uk. After many many emails there is a good chance that they can supply an 18” black alloy that WILL fit ours 4’s that are on 19”. Offsets etc is 45 and there assure me it’s good. I am willing to get one over here to try a final fitment. The look very much like the rover 20” but 18” and load rated to 1050kg. Here’s the good bit it would be under $400 per rim to your door. Anyway don’t won’t to count my chickens yet.
Great thread Jamesadelaide....options popping up everywhere. And yes some 2.7 brakes off an another rover probably best option but as I’m under warranty still I have been persuaded out of this option. If the alloy option falls through I will get 6 tuffants.
Also, to go to this trouble, and not put a decent LT 120+ load rated tyres seems a waste of time.
Should have a result soon
Hardly need a 120 Load rating.. you’ll make the ride harsh and make the tyre so inflexible it is prone to spiking...
I am a novice on this but my grabbers bagged out sooomuch at 24 psi I thought I’d roll them off the rim! Agree can feel harsher but I thought (%@#$) an LT tyre would offer more confidence. I haven’t done the outback and want a capable type. I have no brand allegiance. But happy to take on board advice.

Turtle, over the years the promise of another alloy that fits and is legal has been an illusive dream many times. It always starts with some supplier saying “yes it fits” multiple assurances given but it never does and there’s never a test fit at the source. There’s always been a catch, eg wrong offset or modified brakes.
If this one fitted there would be photos of a late model with 3.0L wearing the wheels, especially if this is a UK based company. I don’t know why so many places seem to think a wheel will fit. I’m not suggesting anything dodgy is happening, just people don’t understand the detail.
Obviously it would be great if I’m wrong and this is the holy grail but I hope you aren’t going to any great expense. An 18” wheel that fits with legal offset and load rating is very close to the limits of compliance to standards, which makes it a tricky design proposition and I think this is why there’s only one alloy on the market for what is really a pretty niche market.

Hi Guys,
been chatting with performance alloys, the wheel they are supplying is the actual compomotive wheel (I am 99% sure).
Compomotive PD1881 Satin Black Wheels | Compomotive PD1881 Satin Black Alloys | Performance Alloys.com (R) The Alloy Wheel Experts ™.
Their pricing was
4x PD1881 18x8 $2152.58 AUD (£1266.22)
5x PD1881 18x8 $2671.65 AUD (£1571.56)
so about $300 less than green oval and from what I can tell the same rim.
This is TNT air freight to my door. They are happy to help with the invoice to avoid gst/duties.
Andy from performance Alloys has been very prompt in replying.
After I contacted compomotive, they gave Gordon from green oval a nudge and he did finally make contact. Will have stock in Jan.
I have been running 285/60/18 Toyo open country all terrains on standard 18x8 D3 rims for over 3years on my D3.
If the standard D3 rims fit a d4, why not just use them instead of all this angst? Yes the tyres might rub a bit occasionally at access height, but not at any other time.
Whilst aftermarket rims look nice, the factory ones still work and they don’t cost much, pick up a set for about $500.
cheers
