Discovery 4 back bumper and accessories for it.

    Hi All,

Firstly I would like to wish everyone all the best for Christmas and the new year. May you have a sensational ending to 2017 and an even better 2018.

I recently bought a 2014 discovery 4 and have been setting it up for camping and 4wd'ing. One of the options I'm looking at is to remove spare wheel from underneath to the back but I cant seem to find a spare wheel carrier that doesn't need full bumper bar replacement although I've seen them on other cars. Can anybody advise where I can get them please.

I still haven't written off changing the entire back bumper. Apart from the TJM one are there other makes I should be looking at.

Thanks in advance for your input.

    Louis

I've got a Kaymar rear Bar on mine..... as that is what the original Owner installed...... If I was doing again myself I'd me using the original bar and a Rijidij wheel carrier.

What ever you choose - keep in mind the additional weight you are adding to the vehicle. These vehicles look great fully kitted, but they get very heavy very fast - when fully loaded for a trip, I struggle to stay under GVM - without any passengers!

I'd go for the Rijidij RWC as it doesn't cover the right rear lights like the others do. But saying that the one I have is for a single wheel only. Good bit of equipment and well made.

Is not the downside to Riji design that it blocks more of the rear window view compared to the others? I guess it’s 6 of one, half dozen ....

Thanks again guys. I noticed the weight issue immediately after I had the ARB bull bar and winch installed so thanks for the heads up. I'm also looking at the LLAMS or IID tools to be able to adjust the suspension to compensate for the extra weight.

Go the LLAMS and Rijidij wheel carrier, I also have the Kaymar Bar with dual carriers, like Mark if I was to choose again I'd go the Rijidij carrier.

LLAMS are brilliant, so easy to use and easy to fit, the missus fitted ours

This reads like a misunderstanding of the aftermarket height control options (Llams and iiD). You don't need anything aftermarket to adjust suspension for weight or extra load. The stock suspension self-levels regardless of weight or load. It's really worth a read of the FAQs to gain a better understanding of how the vehicle's suspension works. [ The AULRO Discovery 3/4 & RRS FAQ ] Some of it is a bit old now but there's still great information in there.
