Only got 10k on them but luv’em! Very quiet, sure footed - even in very heavy rain, softer ride and lighter steering.
I thought I would give another update on the Pirelli Scorpian AT Plus tyres now that I have 20,000 km experience with them.

    I still LUV them!

Quiet, smooth riding and VERY sure footed - even in a torrential downpour. Appear to be wearing very well - look new.

After 51 years of driving, I pride myself with rarely putting a foot wrong - but recently I did so in a big way. Driving fast, in the wet, going downhill, I went into a corner too fast. I thought to myself as I was braking, while turning, with significant weight on the right front tyre, "This is about to get really interesting"! But it didn't! The Pirellis hung on for grim death and the Disco took the corner with only slight loss of traction on the left rear tyre.

For the sort of driving that I do - big distances, wet or dry, mostly on bitumen but often pretty crappy, occasionally dirt, rarely off road - its gonna be hard to get me off them.

A shame the Pirelli AT + aren’t LT in this size. I’ve got them in
LT on my prado and love them. More aggressive sidewalls than my cooper AT3 that I loved too

Both my non-LT 275/55R20 AT+ and the non-LT 255/55R19 AT+ have small thin spots at the tops of the sidewalls between the raised ribs that run down the sides a little. I'll be climbing a very rocky and steep hill tomorrow so have thrown in my 2nd KO2 LT 275/55R20 spare. The KO2s survived the previous trip and obviously I'm hoping the AT+ will too.

    18, did not fit

thought I had a bargain buying 5 18s with good tyres. but the 3l sdv6 has huge calipers and requires 2mm shaved off of what is plenty of spare casting on the caliper, as a long time ship builder i know how to grind and that is on the flat off a special 3m angle grinder wheel which leaves a polished finish, I ground polished one the n decided I would take the wheels off of my d4 2.7 as I thought they were 19s, after a lot of grunting i realised they were 18 with near new coopers
I gave in fitted some old 19s and will go get some wild peaks, store the 20 lo profile black rims plus the near new 18s plus 5 not so new 18s, soon my container will be full
The reason for all these screw-ups is since my stroke I have failed to really think things through
my advice, check your blood pressure weekly, and prevent a stroke.
like every durned other thing, tyres are a rip off although the sector has plenty of competition

    ok, i am looking
i did modify the calipers, however, the rims on the I.D are out of round, i have a lathe big enough to swing 18s but no outside jaws for my 4 jaw chuck, jaw set is 1250 dollars and i do not do much big stuff now
yes you can mod calipers but cos the rims are not true inside there are a row of balence weights abt 2mm thick and they catch the caliper, anyways after days of swapping wheels i am stuffed, will just search hankooks duos at2 they are a reasonable buy
    cheers Stu
