What if you cannot lock the doors because there are no door locks or indeed may not have doors

    Question D3/D4 fuel cap door

LRD414. Hi Scott. I read on your post that you have opened the fuel cap door by reaching the cable inside. How did you actually open it that way? I can see the cable ( after removing the Jack etc) but can't see how to pull the cable. A few years ago I could not get my door to open when at Bourke & Wills roadhouse (clogged with dust?) & ended up breaking the catch.

    thanks

    Phil

    Fuel Filler flap - 06 D3

I have only got as far as you after mine getting clogged with dust that I managed to clear and subsequently keep clear regularly on outback trips. From what I researched you need to find the end of the outer cable so that you can yank the inner cable to unlock. It’s like a bicycle cable.

    D4 Fuel filler cover

    Thanks Scott.

Sorry for late reply - been a bit crook.

I had a good look & feel in there & can see the cable but pulling the outer cable had no affect on the door.

I might just try to keep it a bit cleaner on trips.

Were you able to find an inner cable exiting from the outer and heading to the lock? I think it’s very difficult to reach.
