That’s pretty normal. At a busy intersection I will click it into Sport mode which makes a difference.
The gearbox will ‘learn’ and adapt to your style if you drive with a heavy foot.
Hi now have a D3 with 2.7TD,,112,Kk's,,sometimes when slowed down at inersections/stoplight there is a huge delay in throttle response,,i've searched here but unable to find any threads on it.
Car had new H/P fuel pump fitted at 98k under used car warranty and is serviced every 5/6k's.any suggestions or link to similar thread please..I have an IID tool for it as the nanocom went with the D2a when i sold it.

As previously noted, the gearbox has a delay when coasting slowly and the throttle is applied, before picking a gear and taking off. I have a v6 petrol and don't notice the lag from standstill. I understand its the gearbox not knowing what gear to be in and so not picking anything until you give it some throttle input.
I get around it by either using sport mode at roundabouts, or lightly touching the throttle as i coast up to the intersection so that the gearbox is in gear when I need.
I've also heard putting it in sport and driving like you stole it for a couple of days can also help.

I am the one in the second post on that thread. My car has never had the brake switch problem return and is now up to 275000. Must be a Sydney driving thing with lots of braking. The car came from Sydney but has been used on mainly country driving and touring around Australia since I have had it and drove it to WA.
Brian beat me to it but if it is a really excessive delay, not the normal significant delay, it could be the brake switch.
