Interesting product to allow bigger wheels

Saw this and thought it might be of interest. I don’t think I’ve seen any discussions on it before.

    Strut top spacers...

Places the CV at a constantly tighter angle increasing wear...

I wouldnt have thought it would make a rats arse difference to the CV angle - considering the air suspension will maintain the same ride height. Those run with a limiting strap to so in my thoughts you'd actually be reducing your acutal wheel travel as the extension has effectively increased your bump stop height by the length of the spacers and the limiting straps are maintaining factory suspension droop. Plus side is you can run bigger tyres without the risk of jamming them into the guards if the suspension drops to the bump stops

They do extend the suspension, which means the driveshafts run a greater angle, the big advantage is you run normal air pressure at standard height but are effectively at off road height. Suspension compliance would be much nicer.
There have been a few D3s without air suspension running a 2” lift without problems. So I think if you were careful things would be fine.

Careful being the important point... ive replaced exploded cvs on these before. Running MTRs and extended mode and a rock ledge. The CVs arent as strong as the l322 ones....

Which begs the question, Jc: is there a stronger cv that can be fitted?

Without buying into the spacer or not discussion, were at least some of the CV problems that the CV was in fact damaged or just that the shaft has pulled out of the right side CV having pulled through the circlip due to design shortcomings of the RHS driveshaft/suspension?

If you just fitted the spacers without adding say llams or GOE rods you have effectively done squat, the height will be determined by the sensor position ?

Agree, which is what I was trying to point out in my post. The height sensor is located on the suspension arm not the strut - you can move the strut to any position you like but the suspension will maintain its correct set height unless you change it with rods or LLAMS
