D3 no power at trailer plug

So, I had the trailer on the D3 for the first time today to get the rego check done and to my surprise the tail and numberplate lights weren't working but they did on the defender last year. Hooked it up to another car and it all worked fine. I am using a round to flat adapter but it's not the problem. The only lights i have are blinkers and brake lights, no parkers, numberplate or reverse light. Test light confirmed that no power is at the socket on the car for the things that aren't working. I'm new to this car, is there something common this could be? Thanks

No I didn't, what's the deal with the white one? I just thought it was caravan power or something, it's different though and my adapter wont fit it. Will check fuses in the morning.

It must be the day for it. I was testing out a bike rack number plate holder with lights (Number Plate Holder - #RBCA011 | Rhino-Rack). Indicator and brakes work, but not rear lights.

Multimeter on the D4 trailer plug gave about 10 volts for indicators and brake lights, but about 0.2 volts for rear lights. Then it got dark and dinner was ready.

I assume I should be getting more than 0.2 volts for the rear lights at the trailer plug. But as I am getting some power, it can't be a blown fuse (can it?).

    Grateful for any ideas.

LH rear corner inside is a cover, under the cover is a fuse box for the trailer connections. That's where you need to start

A trailer with incorrect wiring or short circuit has been plugged into the vehicle.

My culprit was found. Being a D4, fuses for the trailer were behind the glove box. I'm guessing caused by a dodgy hire trailer. At first didn't think it was a fuse as there was at least some small voltage at the trailer plug pin. I guess that was just leakage.
