    You were lucky

Mine was "fine" until the adhesive they used let go!

I had mine done 6 months ago, discussed the clip issue, they said there’s were fine and no issues, 6 months later travelling outback WA , windy day, doing 100km /h and it flew off at the top and was flapping around held in by the bonnet, got it back on and added some heavy duty tape along the edges and continued on.
Organised replacement clips from Whyatts Geraldton, 2 days before we get there driving in torrential rain behind a big road train and it flew off again, the wife had to wind down the window and hold it for the next 15 minutes before we could pull over where there was a area that wasn’t like a fast flowing river
I will always demand LR replacement clips for future installs

Okay, so I’ve gone with O’Briens and my insurance company has agreed to a genuine screen. I have spoken to O’Briens, insisting that they use genuine clips and they have agreed. Car is booked to be done on 22 October at Bayswater (they must be busy &#128563 so time will tell.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I’ll report back once it’s done.

Probably because that’s the soonest they can get a genuine windscreen in

O'Briens told me and confirmed they used the genuine clips but they didn't and the trim came off on the freeway. They were good about fixing it but they did have to order them from the dealer

There is varying quality in trim panel clips, the best I have found to date are the black ones sold by Autobarn they are even better than the LR originals. Might be worth a look as I have tried all alternatives to secure the trim panel above the rear door.

I had a screen replaced a few years ago with a genuine, but clips looked suss even although said to be genuine.
Travelling to Melb soon after in wet weather, lots of passing trucks coming towards me. Around Glen Innes a B double hit me with a wave of pressurised air and wet stuff popping off the passenger side trim. Put it back on with lots of bandaids from my first aid kit. That got me to LR dealer in Shepparton for LR clips and good advice to apply them with 'WURTH BOND & SEAL' . Found a tube at local spare parts shop. Followed advice. No problems since. cheers

that’s what has happened to me when I first got the car. It had had the windscreen replaced previously. I wondered what had hit me when it happened. A hell of a fright at 110 kph.
It’s why I’m insisting on the genuine clips. If they can’t show me them in the LR plastic packets then the job won’t be happening on the day. I’ve given them fair warning, including the part number, and will phone them again beforehand to remind them.

Before refitting the trims check that the clip locations have not been pulled out a bit, if so lightly tap them flat.
