New to D4 + Headlight Light Temperature (K)

    Hi there,

First post as a D4 driver. These things are *very* nice. Only moved from my beloved D2a as the kids are simply too big: my son has just turned 16 and is 6'5" and 110kg. I'm 6'4", my wife is 6' and our daughter is shaping up to be rather tall too. We all love the D2 and it's taken us some amazing places but we just don't fit any more .
The D4 is wonderfully roomy and the engine/gearbox is sublime - I just love driving this truck.

    Anyhow, actual question:
Does anyone know what the light temperature of the xenon/HID headlights in a MY15 TDV6 is?
    4300K? 5000K?

I'm after a set of driving lights and my intent is to match the factory headlights.

    cheers,

    bidds

Originals will be just under 4300K. Anything higher is illegal and they couldn't have complianced it.

But you'd likely find that a good quality set of aux lights up to 5000K wouldn't be too far different. Note the words "good quality"... Anything above that will start to look very different and generally low CRI so it'll wash out badly and give poor rendering.

Broadly matching the colours is a really good idea IMHO. Much less fatiguing and more effective in real terms.
