    As a quick update we've just done about 1000 km towing a caravan, wasn't able to weigh it but guessing about 2.5t, avg 19l/100km, then just the car, coming home 1000 km, weighing 3.08 tonnes we averaged 10.58 l/100 km, are those figures about avg? Was surprised to use so much towing I must say, but then I didn't go too slow either...

    Fuel usage on a tdv6

    Sitting about as expected.

    Towing sub 100 will drop that (subject to weather conditions being experienced aka Wind etc)

    I tow our cross over 1.8t van and get this.. (my fuel computer has been calibrated and is accurate)

    Unsure on V8..

    I don’t have the vehicle here at the moment (off getting fully detailed from top to bottom), but over the weekend I’ll hook the tool up and screen shot the pages.

    Those figures look pretty close to what I would expect with my D3 (give or take a headwind or such), might depend a bit on what speed you were doing.
    I find I don't often get into top gear when towing unless downhill or with a tail wind.
