On a couple of occasions in the last week we’ve noticed a noise from our 2010 3.0 TDV6, it’s been in downhill stretches and was like a cross between a grating noise and a jet plane. Braking made no difference and engine speed in neutral also appeared to make no difference.

Today, possibly unrelated, there is a buzzing/rattle which appears to be coming from somewhere roughly deep below the battery box area. This one is definitely engine speed related.

Hoping to take it in to mechanics for at least a quick diagnosis later in the week but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts of what it might be?
