I asked Dave about the manual available from shop on this site. Here is his answer:-

"Yeah it does contain a specific 2013/2014 manual as well as the original up to 2012 manual So there are 2 separate manuals on the disc now" ---

So it looks like one more recent than your current one is available (just spotted you were talking about a service schedule and not a manual)

I suck it out. Some old school believe you must drain it however I’ll leave that to you. It leave very little behind when sucking versus draining in the scheme of things in my experience. If you’re changing more often, remnants of old oil is even less an issue.
Filters. You can buy from LR or use aftermarket. Again, use your view on this as everyone’s position varies. I’m not going to entertain extended arguments on said topics.

In your case I’d simply do oil and filter as your changes and leave the rest to LR aligned to the standard schedule
Oh and prompt them to do gearbox and diffs earlier too.

Thanks Peter, I've got the manual from the shop site but it's a bugger to read at 7500 pages!

Is there a special tool required for the oil filter and do you change the fuel filter as well?

I’d leave the fuel filter to them. It doesn’t need changing at 10k IMO. I think it’s a 32mm socket to undo the filter housing.

In a common rail diesel, I'd consider fuel filters as a standard service item. Not like the older ones, where you kept a spare in the glove box and only put it in when the car coughed and sputtered!

I do my mid service at 10K as well. Vacc the oil out (first time ever no oil over the floor or up my arms. ) Socket on the filter housing and change that. Clean air filter by sucking out with "Hoover".....
I leave the fuel filter for the official services as an indie reckoned mostly our fuel is much better than the olden days.
By the way, the oil vac. machine I got off Ebay for around 50 bucks delivered and out come 6ltrs not 5.9 as per the manual.

Alan I noticed there are a lot of "suckers" on eBay and some have different tubes. Do you stick the tube down the pipe or attach it to the top? Do you have a link to the one you purchased? What brand oil and filter do you get? Thanks.
