Something to think about when replacing the roof lights is whether you want any red ones. I have the drivers map light as red, and this means i can have it on a drive at the same time without internal light reducing night time vision.

Wouldn't have thought of that, only problem is you might attract the wrong attention looking like a mobile brothel .

I can understand red lighting in the map lights but what is the advantage of LEDs in the other internal lights.

My car is now 11 years old and still has all its original incandescent lights and these work great so what is the advantage - to me cool white would just not look right.

You can get different colour globes not just stark white.

Less drain on the battery as they don’t use as much power is the benefit I believe. A much better light to see things with also. Regardless of the type of globe I have found out about the trick to disable internal lights coming on everytime you open a door which is great when camping. You hold in the middle front light button for 5 seconds and a message will appear on the dash display. Do the same thing to have the lights come back on when opening doors.

The internal lights in themselves use virtually no power compared to the other car systems staying or coming "alive" when a door is opened.

I guess each to their own as I find the standard internal lights fine and soft on the eyes unlike cool white LEDs.

Didn't know about the trick of switching them off though - thanks for that.
