As you live in Melbourne, google tyresales. 265/65/18 in BFGs are $351. These are the "grey imports" or so I was told as they are only rated at 114/117. The others rated at 119/122 are $382. I shopped around when i bought mine and in the end bought the "grey imports". Reason was when I questioned the tyre shop they produced their invoice from BFG wholesale which showed the 114/119 tyres were purchased from them. There is so much BS about tyres and I just let it wash over me in the end. BFG make the 114/117 for just about everywhere else in the world. But for some reason, Bob Jane and Jax seem to think the higher rating ones are the ones only suitable for Australian conditions. I have done 30K on mine mostly towing a 2.5T van and I am more than happy with them. However if you are prepared to go to 265/60/18, then Nitto Grapplers are only $279. Others on this site have them. I was going to get them but they ran out of supply when I was looking so went the bigger tyre. Good thing is the speedo is now correct. Just need to alter the odometer as its about 5/100 kms out. (not that that matters in my opinion)

I assume you are referring to LT255/55R19, in which case, where did you source that price from? I need to replace my Wranglers

    Thanks

FWIW, on bitumen the D697s are at 45 psi and the Scorpions are at 40psi.
Too high... being slightly larger than stock, for the road follow the placard +2 to 4psi

Scorpions are just average at best...

I took a gamble on Maxxis 19" LT and they performed magnificently on all manner of rough roads. They are a bit noisy compared to the standard fit tyres, but I would definitely buy them again. I bought 5 a year ago for less than $1200.

Other than almost killing my son and I in the wet at highway speed, the Scorpion ATRs were awesome tyres

Mario, I bought them at Tyre King Baulkham Hills. Yep, standard size 19’s.

Have been pricing up the 697's & the best price seems to be around $350. One of the blokes at tyrepower also recommended the Falken AT3 Wildpeak. Don't know much about these as not a lot mentioned on this forum. They are, however, on special ATM for sub-$300. Anyone tried these or know of anyone who has? I am not doing heaps of km's/year & from what I understand ALL tyres turn crap/hard with time so I am wondering if I wouldn't be better off buying something cheaper. At almost $200 less per corner than, for example, BFG's I am thinking I may be better off. Thanks...again.

Have you priced up the monsta AT? Last time I looked they were under $250 a corner in 18s, though that was a while ago.

D697s should be able to be had at $325 f&b
    Falken AT3W (a good tyre btw) is $225 f&b

I have Falken on trial at the moment... quite impressed.

    One of my brothers,a Darwin resident,recently had a set of 4 697's fitted to his playdo,$800 f &b.They are 17's.

    KO2 were $1300

Much quieter than his old KO's,although tyres do get noisier as they wear.
