Of course when I say I did research I did reading, I think that was pretty obvious. Reading of lots of other people's research and trials who have shared it with others on the internet...a place people come to read. I was kicked out of my own tyre research laboratory because my Nanna needed to put her caravan back into her garage so I didn't get to finish my experiments, but I still felt like sharing what I'd learnt from others before me may help the OP. You sound like you've actually got a laboratory, and a team of "scientists" working on this, so wouldn't your contributions to this community be better spent sharing some of your research findings rather than being an internet hero and picking on semantics in a forum post? Are you suggesting that nothing on the internet is worth a cracker without it being backed up by cold hard data? Because if you are then I guess we can toss out about 95% of this and all other internet forums' information...IN THE BIN!
Forums are places for people to come together online and share what they know, to discuss, or at least what they've read somewhere to save someone else having to read it for themselves. Am I wrong? Did I do it wrong? Come to think of it I haven't actually done any research on how internet forums work, so please if you could share your research on that too it would be great.
Why do you feel it's necessary to be a rude jerk to someone for trying to help? Sounds like you have your own opinion on some of these things which is great to throw into the mix and I for one would be interested to read your findings, no need to act like the schoolyard bully too though, that just isn't cool. Guess this is a bit out of the ordinary for me having not ventured much outside the D1 forum, I kind of get how Bad Boy Bubby must have felt now.
This is an internet discussion forum not a science journal, so don't be such a dick.
I couldn't agree with you more Angus, there seems to be a lot of pedantics from some 'contributors?' that is completely unnecessary.
I would say that the majority of people try to give what they feel are informed & constructive input to conversations. Before anyone gets going, by 'informed' I qualified that by saying "they feel" as opposed to 'qualified or scientific' usually with a brief explanation of why they offered that opinion. By 'constructive' they are hoping that they may be of assistance to someone in some way.
You usually start to pick up after a while the people that are really worth taking notice of because they are knowledgeable & constructive & often just a little guarded because they know no one is perfect & there is always another way to look at things.
Meaningless pedantics usually just put people off & drive them away therefore depriving others of what one day just might be a very worthwhile contribution that no one has thought of.
I'm so pleased you responded in the constructive way you did.
Regards, Wayne.
All good fun reading others arguments for and against this tyre or that. Researched or just bar talk, put it all together and make your own minds up. I suspect most of us on here aren't snowflake students who hop from one crusade to the next nearly all with a good amount of lefty bias, so the least we can do is be a bit more open minded when others voice their opinion about tyres or anything else.
I do, especially when that opinion is the same as mine....
I've done all that and have settled on Maxxis 980LTs for the "D" as replacements for the original tyre.

****ing gold.... oh how I enjoy watching the expression of opinion as fact on this forum.
Oh the amusement from seeing a post asking for assistance with a problem being responded to with “it’s definitely this.... fix your .... it will be ....”
Oh how I enjoy the fact the world has got so super ****ing sensitive that blunt, to the point comments or assessments of prior posts - receive such touchy feely responses.
How people who have no idea *about a topic* - won’t admit they have no idea - and yet offer opinion based on pseudoscience and feeling rather than their real world observations!
Now where’s my Glad Wrap?

What’s the best part about this forum? The people who contribute in any way.
What’s the worst part of this forum (besides Me)?
Opinions *expressed as **fact**. (It’s ok to have an opinion)
Reading/Quoting of advertorials as research.
Pseudoscience.
Research where n=1. (This is personal experience not research)
Left and Right wing crap making its way into a vehicle forum.
What’s my favourite part of the forum in the last couple of years?
Watching the ongoing softening of the human spirit, becoming hypersensitive to even the smallest criticism, To watch the shift from being able to take criticism, to criticising criticism with soft beliefs in the misguided ideal that people should all go through life never offending anyone or being offended themselves.
If this offends you - please, be offended! Nothing happens to you if you’re offended. Feel free to be offended - just don’t expect me to sit back, read things that give false data - and say nothing.
Hands up those who partially buy tyres by “how they look”..... be honest...
I’m off to go play in the workshop, all welcome to drop in for a beer..... if you don’t, I won’t be offended...
And feel free to flame me....
I’ve almost given up on sharing experience and knowledge on this forum, I’ve cancelled the auto renewal about 4 months ago - so soon my membership will end and I’ll be an obscure user name on a forum.
Why? Because the forum has shifted, Look back on posts, I think there’s like 2 where I ask for assistance.. 2.
I spent years providing assistance though. And you need to take it through my “rough edges” if you want it.
In the meantime I will post as I see fit, if anybody doesn’t like my post - please report it (button top right of my post) and let the admins sort it out - they do a great job.
Now go suck it up and do some Land Rovering!
Just a ...ken Troll sometimes Tombie.
