    Opening rear passenger doors

    Gday...

OK ... so I've had the Landy for about eight years - so this is obviously not greatly important.

BUT ... this problem only raised its troublesome head early last year.

The only way for a rear passenger to open either of the rear doors and get out is to operate BOTH the silver 'normal' handle AND the black 'locking' button at the same time.

The button is set to 'not child-lock' but it doesn't seem to matter - it takes both handle and button 'opened' together by hand to get out of the door/s.

    These pics might help -

Is the car set to automatically lock all doors once a certain speed is attained? (I forgot the name of the feature)
Mine is and the rear passengers must manually flip the lock lever before pulling on the opening lever.
Not sure if that's the same symptoms as you are experiencing John?

    Gday...

Thanks for the response but no, the 'auto locking' set for locking all doors as you drive away is not active.

I killed that very early in my ownership and it has not returned.

Try opening the back doors from outside after locking the car.

When the door lock units fail they don’t lock even though you hear the clunk.

Normally the kids show this up when they try and open the door and set the alarm off.

Not the hardest job to replace the lock units.

    Gday...

Thanks Perthdisco ... but the all doors and tailgate lock correctly when locked from outside the vehicle and cannot be opened.

In fact, when I am checking that I have locked the vehicle of a night, it is one of the rear passenger doors that I pull the door handle of ... and they lock correctly.

Hopefully someone else has experienced this problem and has a solution ... if not, then I will just not bother or worry. It is only a concern when I have a rear passenger and they try to get out.

    Cheers - John
