    Flashing "D" Indicator

    Hi everyone.

    The other day I put the car into drive and the "D" was flashing and the transmission was not engaged. I put it back into Park and tried again and it was fine. Never had this happen before. Car is 4yrs 9mths old. Anyone ever had this issue or know of it?

    Flashing 'P' indicator

    Hi Martin

    I haven't had this issue in Drive before, but I do see it regularly in Park.
    When I pull into the driveway, stop, select Park... For some reason, it seems not to be selected properly, which might just be in relation to a proximity switch somewhere.

    I don't know if it's actually in Park or not (I'm assuming it is), but if I just bump the gear lever, the flashing P stops, and everything is fine.

    Short answer, in my case, I think it's a minor 'positioning' issue with where the gear lever is sitting...

    Wild guess. Could it be something to do with the auto park brake function? Telling you it’s engaging/ releasing?

    I know on my D4 if you turn off the car in D, the P flashes while it shifts into P and then stops flashing.

    I haven't had a chance to do anything yet as my wife was put into hospital yesterday morning at 3am. She's now stable but not out of the woods yet.

    Guys I think Martin's issue is not with flashing "P" but is flashing "D".
    Martin I have looked through the factory workshop manual on the tranny and there is no mention of a flashing D.
    Sounds like bigger fish to fry at this time though.

    When I got home from the hospital tonight I checked my GAPIID tool. No errors or pending errors. Hopefully it was a simple one time glitch. Hasn't happened again. Maybe I hadn't turned the dial quite far enough.
