    Oil extraction hose size

Hello all I am going to purchase a oil extractor for my D4 I have 2 question
Manual pump or electric like the idea of electric cause it is small and I can take it with me when I do the trip around Australia
    And
What size does the nylon hose have to be to fit down the extraction pipe.
    Cheers All.

You don't fit the pipe down the tube, you attach the nylon tube TO the metal engine tube using a piece of rubber hose. I used a short piece of fuel hose, maybe 8mm?

    Oil extraction hose size

You will need to carry about a 10l container to take the oil before refilling. Maybe a tub that will fit new oil, filter, degreaser & 12v pump, and temporarily hold waste oil.

I use a Mcnaught 6.5l manual pump. A vacuum pump is a much better way to change the oil.

I use a vac. pump purchased off the internet for about 50 bucks to do intermediate changes between the official ones. Came with 3 different size tubes, holds around 7-8 ltrs. of oil and with a couple of pumps out it comes.
Leave it attached while changing the oil filter then another couple of pumps and out comes a bit more oil.
Easiest oil change I've ever done.

PS. But I'd still like a dipstick.....

    Wink

Same here, but i stick one of the tubes down the engine tube (I.e like a dipstick ) and stick the rubber bung at the top to seal, connect another to the pump and away we go.
