How bad was it on your vehicle. Does it cause any damage to the vehicle or tyre?

Barely noticeable actually. It only rubbed a little on the inboard of the inside of the guard, on full lock and with the suspension at its lowest setting, no damage to either tyre or body. But that was on my L322, I can't say it would be the same on the Discovery, the clearances might be different.
Mind you, I have standard 19 inch wheels on the Discovery, with a separate set of off-road wheels and tyres (Maxxis Bravo light truck) in 255/55R19 and find the Maxxis in 19 inch entirely adequate, both on road and off-road, as long as I'm careful with pressures and drive to the road conditions.
