    Quietest 18” all terrain tyres?

I assumed this would have been covered already but a search of quietest all terrain didn’t produce anything

I like the look and confidence of all terrain tyres but HATE with a passion the sound of the tyres of my KO2 tyres rolling along the road.

Im looking for a new set and hoping someone with experience can tell me if there are any silent tyres they have found?

    Considering the following options:
    pirelli ATR
    pirelli ATR Plus
    continental crosscontact ATR
    Maxiis AT771
    D697

In reality I’m far less likely to go or want to go digging in any mud, I will go off-road but the vast majority will be on a beach and only occasionally on rocky roads so it begs the question why I don’t just go highway tyres.. I guess I like to have the option when needed

Always heard good reports of the D697's. I am looking at trying the Falken Wildpeak AT3 in a 265/60. Happy hunting.

It's hard for me to say what are the quietest as the only experience of those you've quoted are that I have D697's. I have not heard any road noise from them for the last 40,000km...

D697 for sure. Great all rounder and definitely not much noisier than the OE Goodyears and certainly a lot quieter than our KO2's which have more grip off bitumen but you would need to be spending over 20,000km off bitumen so see and get the benefit. As we spend around 50% more on the dirt then the KO2 is our choice. But we would go back to the 697 otherwise

It’s very interesting, the feedback on the d697 couldn’t be more diverse. Ive read as many posts saying it is loud (incl a private message during this chat) as I have saying the opposite

i think to be safe I’m going to cut them from the list, despite positive comments above it seems too inconclusive

perhaps there are a number of factors which affect how loud they are for each person

I recently swapped from KO2 to Pirelli AT+ in 275/55R20, yearning for the KO2s to wear out enough due to them resonating in my ears. The AT+ produces a little sound on coarse bitumen in the L322 which doesn't have a chassis but are dead silent on smoother surfaces but as they've only done about 5K kms I don't know if they will get noisy with wear.

The 255/60R18 AT+ is XL with LI 112 whereas the 265/60R18 AT+ is not XL and has LI 110.

I have d697 and noticed a small increase in noise compared to the OEM HT tyres it came with.
