Discovery 4 TDV6 halogen headlights - look-a-like LED Signature lights but no actual

I’ve been trying to search this up for a while now with little luck - all the results seem to be on fitting LED replacement headlight globes.

Our MY12 D4 TDV6 has halogen headlights which look like they have the LED Signature lights but they don’t seem to illuminate in any of the headlight switches positions.
Would I be right in assuming that being the base spec model it’s just a look-a-like without the $2.00 of LED modules actually fitted in?

Mine has them,it has Xenon factory fitted lights i think they are called.

So maybe only if you have these.

FWIW,they are very good,i have done a lot of night driving in regional areas, and there is no need for spotlights.

When i was looking at the 2016 models the base model with halogen lights did not have the day light driving lights. From what I remember you only get the DRLs is when you get the xenon lights. But I could be wrong! LR call the DRL signature lights!

Is the OP asking about DRL's,or the 'signature lights' that are in the headlight, and come on with the parking lights?

    I don't think MY12 had DRL's.

But i stand to be corrected.

I think that's only for the later D4a models (facelift models which 2016 would be) as prior to that there was a proper DRL option which fits into the bottom of the front bumper bar - VPLAV0066, KIT - DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP DISCO 4.

Asking about the Signature lights inside the actual headlight housing.

My MY14 D4 with std halogen headlights, has DRL lights inboard from the headlights. They have std filament globes in them.

I have a Nov 2013 HSE and it has the signature lights and they do come on with the parking lights as you say. As mentioned above, the DRLs were a separate item in the lower bumper and were not standard. I incorrectly assumed that the signature lights were DRLs when I bought the car.
