D4 and wiring Caravan Electronic Stability Control (ESC)?

I'm probably just going gaga, but do I recall some problem with wiring up a D4 to accept the red ESC Anderson plug from a caravan?

I do remember not to use any weight distribution system around the tow hitch, but ESC?

Thoughts/advice from the wise here please?

My s/h caravan had ESC fitted when I purchased the van. I'm in 2 minds about ESC as it activates on rough patches on straight roads but to date I haven't stopped using it. I get a slight insurance discount but am inclined to remove it from the policy so that the van will still be insured if I decide to disconnect it if it intervenes excessively. My can tows beautifully so I feel that ESC is not required especially as my vehicle, like your D4, is a late model LR with all the electronics.

My "off road" caravan has ESC and the booklet that came with it says to disconnect ESC when off road as the "swaying" of the van will cause the brakes to come on. On the road I have it always connected. At speed I never want the tail (caravan) wave the dog (D4)
