If you have bi-xenon then I would tend to agree. The issue is the infill lights when you hit hi beam, the h7 halogen are no match for the bixenon.
The bi-xenon give a good spread, but just not far enough ahead especially in the country. A light bar to fill that gap is ideal in my opinion.
Wow. I have bi-xenon and while they’re better than halogen, they’re still poor compared to the additional light of a bar/spot.
With the OEM lights we seem to be comparing apples with oranges.
If you have halogen lights then low beam is H7 halogen (projector or open) and hi beam in the inner light is also H7 halogen and I agree these are not good.
If you have bi xenons, then the HID in the projector is your low beam, however when you switch to hi beam the shield in the low beam projector moves giving you Hi beam from the same HID globe. The H7 halogen globe next to the low beam light which comes on when you switch to hi beam (and also provides the headlight flash funtion) is not your high beam (like it is with the pov pack halogen lights). If you removed the halogen H7 globe you would still have hi beam in Bi-Xenon equipped vehicles.
In bi-xenon equipped cars hi beam is from the Bi Xenon light with the halogen light just fulfilling a secondary function such as headlight flashing and hi beam fill in.
Bi Xenons are good, halogens are crap.

Has anyone tried a LED headlight bulb conversion, I have Bi Xenons and LED spotties so I don't need them, just asking??
Garry, can you describe what area the halogen globe fills in? e.g. wide to the sides or whatever?
I also think the Bi-Xenons are brilliant, but am contemplating whether to fit my old IPF lights (one wide, one spot) or to go the Stedi option. As I have a winch and bullbar, I'm a bit cautious about doing anything that will impede air flow.
No idea but they are always described in LR circles as "fill-in" lights on the Bi xenon fitted vehicles - as I indicated if your H7s are not working, you still have hi beam.
My car was all halogen so the fill ins are actually high beam. I have put HID globes in my low beam projectors and there is a dark spot in the half past six position that fills in when I turn on high beam - not sure if this is the same with the OEM Bi-Xenon low/hi beam HIDs.
