    Sunroof stuck open

    Hi i have a discovery 3 hse and opened the sunroof, and it stuck open. The motor does a whirring sound but it is still stuck. I tried the 20s reset and it is still stuck. There doesn’t seem to be a manual closer system,so wonder what others might have done?

    Check fuse #20P hasn't blown. Also make sure the 30-60 second reset is done with the ingnition on, but the engine off.
    After that it might be time for some car surgery. The motor for the sunroof is above the rear view mirror and you might be able to wind the cog closed by hand if you can get in there.

    I loved the post where it was booked in for an hours fault finding when a 20 sec. reset fixed it
    And the bloke in Seth Effrica? Sure are some ripoff merchants out there in this wide wide world..

    the fix!

    Hi I pulled the headliner down after removing A,B,C and D pillar fascia, and could get access to the sunroof mechanism. The sunroof motor's gearbox needed adjustment to make it engage with the sunroof. The worm drive wasn't engaging with the pinon gear. I closed the sunroof and reassembled it. I don't think that I will open the sunroof again, as the problem would return probably.
