What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Just received a full refund for 2 x 70amp relays I bought for the D3. Australian seller claiming to sell genuine TE/TYCO relays at $14each was in fact selling something you can buy off AliExpress for $2 each (including delivery).

Gave the seller an opportunity to replace or refund but they did not respond.

So proceeded with raising a return through eBay - which the seller still ignored. After 5 days then eBay takes over, sends a return label for me to return the parts, fully refunds me once the tracking confirmed parts returned, and back-charges the seller for the return postage.

Can be frustrating but eBay’s money back guarantee and return process works well.

    Where did they move too?

I visited them a few times at their old shop but found they were a bit expensive.

In a big store at Rutherford on the highway. In the old total Eden shop. It'll be hard to get me out of all 4x4 for both price and service. But this was a good experience

Thanks for that - I have been going to All 4x4 since 1978 when the owner was a single person operation operating out of a back garage at the 5 ways in Broadmeadow.

In many ways it is a shame they have become more upmarket as I miss being let loose in the old upstairs mezzanine to browse the racks of series used parts - cannot do that these days but they do provide a good service - but less haggling on price.

Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus 255/55 19inch bought today.

I purchased 5 x Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus 255/55 19 inch from Bob Jane today. Good price of $269 each including fitting, balancing and old tyre disposal.

This is still a 111H (not LT) rated tyre but I'm not into extreme tracks and I've learnt to drive slower on gnarly gravel roads (the LR suspension is sometimes too absorbing)). It's a good looking tyre and maybe the modern design offers some increased durability over the many rather 'long in the tooth' competitors. The Maxxis LT tyres were on my shopping list but I was nervous about the increased road noise and then was totally put off when I read that they are being discontinued.

I finished the install of the GOE emergency air up kit that started on Wednesday......

I did the front on Wednesday but bone headedly over tightened the fittings into the valve block. You know something is wrong when you think "it really should have nipped up by now yet you're still turning the fitting...." Apparently you need to be careful how much torque apply when fitting metal fittings to a plastic housing....who would have thunk it....

Off to Rovercraft at 7.00 the next morning for a new block so I can can get daughter to orthodontist at 10.30.....Fitted on lawn (plywood for jack and to lay on) as brickies have taken ownership of driveway. Success, daughter (much to her disgust) makes appointment.

Rear end done Thursday afternoon. No obvious leaks and no time to test with soapy water....

Car sits all day on Friday and rear left is on bump stops this morning. So away we go again. Jack up and under there with soapy water. Found problem, 'O' ring 'grabbed' and sitting out of fitting. Bugger, I really need a new fitting as 'O' ring has an obvious dent/crease in it. No worries. I have three spares from the from block....Fitted new fitting, tested and all good.....

So four days after staring the 2-3 hour install we are done

I remember reading about this air up kit on another thread. Was anyone ever able to make a list of everything we’d need to do the same? I remember there was some discrepancy over thread type?

Not sure, the kit I fitted was from GOE back in the day. I was going to look it up as I was thinking of getting two of the 90 deg elbows and investigating an epoxy (or something) option to glue them into the old valve block to have as a spare.

When fitting plastic pipe into orings KY jelly is the go. It is water based and will not damage anything and the pipe just slides in nicely. It is the only thing we use in aircraft oxygen system tubing.
