Cleaned up the exhaust a bit, not perfect but it looks pretty good. Got quoted $1600 for a custom high clearance 304 stainless Jobbie. I will do that next year. Bolted on the rear control arm skids.
I could have used one of those a little while back - driving on a forestry road a four foot 1" green stick got kicked up by the front wheel and the raise end went through that axle - in between the axle and the lower control arm - up on the CV boot, pushed against the brake hose and the end of the stick ended under the far back of the steel body work with the front jammed into the ground. Because the stick was green it was also bent and jammed against he tyre - it has pinched the CV boot.
Stick could not be moved and would not break - also worried about ripping the CV boot and rubber brake hose.
In the end had to use a multi tool little saw blade to cut through stick. The CV was pinched as some CV grease was on the stick but it is not split and the pinch seems to have closed up as there is no grease coming out 2,000km later.
So - a one in a million incident but one that those plates would have helped with.
