Yes the software patch is sufficient. It doesn’t turn them off per se, but remaps the activity so they still go through their test cycles but never open when they normally would as the map is changed to keep them closed. You can’t blank them AFAIK in this setup, but it still keeps them from being used to gum up your intake.
No plates are needed. The butterflies kept closed is sufficient. A remap in software still expects working EGR though.
