Yes, and emulators were a way to fool the ecu as well. I don't believe a software patch is sufficient for the 3.0 though. Physical plates are needed and the egrs need to be commanded to close then programmed out. I believe Mr Tombie knows more about this.
Yes the software patch is sufficient. It doesn’t turn them off per se, but remaps the activity so they still go through their test cycles but never open when they normally would as the map is changed to keep them closed. You can’t blank them AFAIK in this setup, but it still keeps them from being used to gum up your intake.Quote:

Blanking plates have been installed, I was told they are necessary and ECU has been re mapped to accommodate AFAIK. Since the Remap the car is very quick off the line. The other thing is I seemed to be using a lot less fuel than the other D4's on the day trips we did. I just wonder if it has been programmed to run a bit too lean. That does seem to be a conflict... how come it flies off the mark yet uses less fuel. Around town I get 10 - 12 LPHK and on open road, no van about 8.5. Towing a 2.5T van I get 13-16 depending on road and wind. Once I hear from Tombie on what he thinks he knows is the problem, then I will approach Rova Range with what people here are saying it could be. D4 had a wheel alignment not so long ago (approx 20K km) with new road based AT tyres fitted.
When I brake gently I get a slight shimmy through the steering wheel. Car is approaching 90K km and done virtually no off road, but has done about 15K km as a tow tug for our 3.5T van.
Another wheel alignment, suspension or?
