    D3/4 Reliability?

    Not my D3/4, but the guys on LR Time ( YouTube video - see 20 mins into their Ineos test drive video) just sold their D3 or 4 “Mall Crawler” - The reason?

    Well, Christian says “I’m done with it! The last mall crawler was so boring - it didn’t want to break! Not a single problem in 18 Months! If I want to have a Landrover I want to have some work!”

    Looks very much like a leaking injector has cooked it

    My son's D4 got a new LH inlet manifold on the w/e at 290K, although it had been nursed for the last 9 months or so. The RH was changed a few years ago.

    Bought vehicle not running with engine fault known.
    Compression tested. Low comp. Started stripping it down. Nothing obvious so head came off.
    Suspect leaking Injector torched it.
    Fitting new engine to it anyway.

    Would an injector not cause a fault before it did this? If it leaked when off you’d be at risk of a hydraulic lock.

    Tuffants arrived

    Changed over to tuffants with geolander G015 265/60R18s. Geolanders are quiet for an LT rated AT.

    Now need to decide if keeping the 20" rims.

    Spare wheel winder was a PITA & wouldn't lower fully. Expect the wire has wrapped incorrectly so that's the next job. Thinking of replacing the winder eye with a nut to be able to use a socket wrench. Have upgraded to a bottle jack so means I can then ditch the original jack completely.

    He replaced it with another D4 that needs work, purely for youtube content.
