Did a quick run from Albany to Esperance and got to see how far it'd stretch its legs for the first time. Goes a bit faster downhill.
Believe it or not, O'briens offer an aftermarket heated screen for the D3. I'm waiting on a call back for price and avail on a genuine. Didn't bother even getting a price for the aftermarket.
I know mums D1 came with a heated screen. I wonder how many Aus spec D3/4 have them?
I just chickened out and paid for it up front. A whisker over 3K and 8 weeks eta. I’ll let my wife haggle with insurance over it.
Why do you need a heated screen - dont need them even on a cold winter morning in Canberra - programme defrost setting on climate control works brilliant.
Who said anything about "need"? I also don't need heated seats, the fuel burning heater, RSE with 6 stack DVD player and Dolby surround sound but if any of it broke I'd replace it because I like it.
Car was manufactured with it, the HVAC unit expects to see it, I like it and I can't be arsed dealing with any potential issues or faults when the car no longer sees what it expects to see.
If you've ever had and used a heated screen vs waiting for the defrost settings to do their thing, there is absolutely no comparison.
