I won't have one of their windscreens to compare. I've already agreed to pay the extra to cover the genuine screen, so it'll be original out and genuine in.

Drug dealing must be paying off for you to even consider that paying an extra $1700 was an option [bigrolf].
G'day,
I had both key fobs decide they were no longer required to lock and unlock the car.
A quick google identified a corroded wire junction to the remote control's radio receiver would be the culprit.
I cut the offending join and resoldered and now have two working remotes.

Woke up this morning at Burren Junction and packed the block of flats for the trip to Lighting Ridge.
Started the D4 and the car told me that it didn't want to charge the battery any more.
So set up the van for another night, put the car under the awning as it started to rain lightly.
Now I have to change the alternator. Luckily I have a new one in the back, unluckily I didn't listen to myself and change it before I left. 13 years and 200k isn't to bad I understand.
What a &$#@+& of a job. Especially when you're under the car and water runs of the car into your ear!
As usual, there's always a couple of bolts that take most of the time and skin. But it's done! It's works! And no smoke escaped! Now I just have to put all the stuff back, plastic liner (hate those little clips), fender flares, wheel, etc.
Then it'll be back on the road to Lighting Ridge and the warmer north.

Been loosing a lot of power steering fluid lately, but the combination of no obvious signs of it leaking with very little driving of the D3 lately I hadn't gotten too stressed over it. Well yesterday the leak finally showed up - RHS of the steering rack. Funny as the rack was the first place I checked when I started loosing fluid and it didn't really look like the source of the leak at the time. Anyway can't really find any rebuild/seal kits out there for them. Will have to get on the phone this week and see what options are out there for either sourcing seal kits or getting it rebuild/exchanged - price of a new rack is stupid and I don't really feel like its a viable option so worst case throw a second hand one in and maybe strip the old one myself and see what I can do for sourcing seals myself.
Dealing with these guys on another car but look the goods for steering rack rebuilds

reminds me I need to do a power steering fluid flush and fit new reservoir. Need to get a suitable funnel that won't leak around the mouth though.
Tonight, I replaced the left-hand high, low, and parker globes with Stedi LEDs on the D3.
It was an effort to get the headlight out of the car and past the ARB bar. I had to remove the mounting brackets on both sides and could then manoeuvre it through the hoop in the bull bar.
I'll tackle the other side tomorrow.
While I was there, I found the tell tail for a coolant leak. I've been needing to put about 200ml in every month or so.
